This e-mail is to inform you of our next Oakmont neighborhood meeting regarding the Barnett Shale Natural Gas Leases proposed by XTO Energy.

Our first organizational meeting was held on Monday, July 14th at 7:00pm in Larkspur. There were approximately 45 residents of Oakmont present. At the conclusion of the meeting we all agreed to: 1) do not sign any agreements until we, as a community, get all the facts 2) we will continue to have meetings to keep everyone informed of progress 3) our next meeting would be the “meeting before the meeting” where we brought all subdivisions together for a complete Oakmont meeting and share expertise in this matter.

A date has been set for our follow up meeting:

Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 7:00pm at Oakmont Country Club
Oak Room/Main Dining Room

Tuesday night is Home-Style Burgers & Brew night at the club between 5-9pm – Happy Hour is also between the hours of 4-7pm.
Lets support our club by grabbing a burger before the meeting.

Our agenda for this meeting will be threefold:

1) Allow the residents that have expertise in this field: oil/gas
To speak to us about their experience or what we can expect as we progress.
If you are one of those people or have a neighbor or friend that is a Real Estate Attorney/Oil-Gas Person/Landperson

2) If any resident has had personal experience thus far with XTO as it relates to Oakmont – e-mail me: mariellen24@yahoo.com so you can be added to the agenda – we need to hear what you have done and your experiences with XTO.
3) We want to compile a list of community concerns – ie: liability, well locations, pollution etc… this will enable us to move forward in an organized manner when we actually have XTO or Chesapeake at our next meeting. Immediately after our Community Meeting, we will contact XTO, Chesapeake and Holigan Land Development regarding scheduling a meeting to have one of their people make a presentation to all of us.
